AccessApps is an initiative supported by the JISC Regional Support Centres and JISC TechDis. It consists of over 50 Open Source and freeware Windows applications, running from a USB stick. AccessApps provides a range of solutions to support writing, reading and planning as well as sensory, cognitive and physical difficulties.
This site contains a collection of computer based artefacts that simulate aspects of disability. It is intended that the simulations will be used for training and awareness raising activities with staff and for teaching students in areas where an understanding of disability is required.
A team of deaf learners at Sussex Downs College has produced media rich, interactive guidance designed to provide greater awareness of deaf issues for staff within educational institutions.
Cowork was a three year collaborative project between Coventry University, the University of Warwick and University College Worcester that ran from January 2000 to December 2002. During that period the project produced a range of staff development materials and workshops that aimed to help academic staff improve access to the curriculum for disabled students.
