HEAT Scheme - UK Centre for Legal Education, Warwick
were awarded a video camera, digital voice recorder and editing software, to develop interactive online 'toolkit for teaching' to support new law teachers designed to high accessibility standards for teacher and learner.

HEAT Scheme - The College of St Mark and St John
The School of Sport, Physical Education and Leisure used a digital video camera and video stills camera to produce learning objects designed after liaising with visually and aurally impaired students and explore the scope for production of innovative educational materials.

HEAT Scheme - University of Teesside
The School of Computing were awarded Apple video iPods and Creative Zen Vision media players to produce an evaluation of vodcasts in terms of accessibility, captioning, accessibility of devices and design requirements, and develop of a prototype learning object.

The School of Biological Sciences bid for Digital microphones and digital MP3 recorders to promote the use of audio materials on the VLE, using sound with PowerPoint, Breeze and podcasting.

The School of Social Sciences were awared digital wav/mp3 recorders plus additional training for staff to introduce podcasting as a teaching application, piloting in each year group.

The Division of Rehabilitation used a MiniDV Camcorder to produce student-centred personal experience captures, utilising as reusable podcasts/vodcasts, avoiding the limitations of text-based reflection.

The Institute of Health and Community Studies were awarded Nintendo DS Lite handheld gaming consoles and Dr Kawashina's Brain Training software to investigate the potential as study support tool in numeracy and mental arithmetic.

Coventry University investigated the use of a Wireless gyroscopic mouse and keyboard to evaluate whether it increased student engagement and any relevance to disabled students in that process.

The Department of Archaeology bid for Inspiration licences and staff time and training to develop innovative ways of structuring essays using mind mapping for second year students.

The School of International Business, University of Ulster, is using Inspiration as part of a 'writing for business' series of workshops for 1st years and for year 4 students adapting back to study after placement.

Inspiration was also used by the Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine Subject Centre with different types of students, including a mature student undertaking private study and revision, with small groups in a Problem Based Learning class, and with a fourth year medical student undertaking an optional ‘Student Selected Component’ in education, using Mind Maps to efficiently document the long term outcomes, in the context of facilitating change, and career development for project holders of small grant funding in medical, dental and veterinary education.

Specialists in Innovation Case Study: Linkage College responded to a lack of age appropriate learning resources for students with learning difficulties by creating their own materials based on staff suggestions.
