Assistive Technologists
The experience that Assistive Technologists build up in dealing with the use of technology in education is invaluable, but because all students and users are different and use the equipment or software in subtlely different ways there is always more to learn. In order to try and share this fund of knowledge, we have established an ATinHE network of assistive technology professionals, supported by a JISCmail list. This will, we hope, encourage the collection of valuable expertise and experience of using assistive technologies in higher education for the benefit of the rest of the community.
ATinHE networking event: Getting Assistive Technology Out of its Box, September 17th 2009
This event featured a range of sessions for sharing best practice with assistive technology, with the largest part of the day set aside for discussions and networking to build a community of assistive technology professionals working in UK higher education.
